Uncover the difference between a Nutritionist & Dietitian and decide which one is best for you
Registered dietitians are qualified to assess, diagnose and treat dietary problems or nutritional needs. They also tend to help clients with special dietary requirements or medical conditions. To be a dietitian, you’ve got to be registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC). Many dietitians work within the NHS as opposed to privately, although you can still find private dietitians to help advise you on your eating habits. Whereas nutritionists are more likely to be the ones advising on weight loss or sport nutrition. Nutritionists can be registered with the UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists (UKVRN), but they don't have to be.
To become qualified as a nutritionist, I had to complete a course run by the UKVRN. After completing the course, I became qualified as a registered nutritionist. This means that all my clients can check my qualifications and experience online. Clients can therefore be confident in my abilities, as they know that I'm qualified under a trustworthy organisation.
Weight loss is the most common reason that new clients come to me. They often find it difficult to know how to get the right nutrients into their diets without feeling hungry or unsatisfied. But over the last few years, I’ve had more and more people coming to me with IBS-related issues. I think that's because more people are recognising the symptoms of IBS and are getting diagnosed. They then come to nutritionists or dietitians for guidance on how to alter their eating habits to help relieve their symptoms.

I'm incredibly grateful to kind, compassionate and nonjudgemental nutritionist at Revive Nutrition. The challenges of the COVID-19 year took a toll on my health thus I developed issues such as IBS, digestion problems and blood deficiencies. Taking action was crucial as I didn’t want to continue like this any longer. With Revive Nutrition, I gained valuable insights and knowledge on how to nourish my body better. Bal's warmth and empathy made me discuss my eating habits and concerns effortlessly. Her detailed analysis of my food diary amazed me, and honest advice has empowered me to lead a healthier and happier life realistically. From the moment I spoke with Bal, I felt heard and supported, and the achievable goals set have me feeling excited about my journey ahead. I wholeheartedly recommend Revive Nutrition to anyone seeking guidance on their health journey!

Moni is amazing. She's really patient, kind, friendly, professional, personable and encouraging. She is also willing to adapt as necessary to my needs based on my autism, mental health struggles and physical health differences. She will go above and beyond to check in with you and give some nutritional advice if required as well. Wholeheartedly recommend her and will be seeing her for the foreseeable!

I am in my 60’s and following childhood trauma, have spent each decade trying to find effective counselling. Talking (in my experience) changed nothing. Time spent with Anna, being taken through BWRT changed everything. Anna is so patient, so down to earth, kindly and calmly responding to my negative behaviour and whatever I chose to talk about. She is professional and generous with time. It would be wonderful if Anna could be prescribed on the NHS but sadly she isn’t (yet). We sometimes struggle to spend money on ourselves but this, for me, has been money very well spent and I would encourage anyone to take that next step with Anna Brooker.
