Yi Shan is a trauma and relationship/couples therapist who uses a salutogenic (wellness-based) approach with individuals and couples to shift them from being in a “survival” to “thriving” state of being. Her healing philosophy is that no one is flawed or damaged. By applying neuroscience-based knowledge and skills, as well as strategically applying their existing assets in small, concrete steps, everyone is capable of opening the door to a compassionate and long-lasting “home” within themselves and their relationships. Yi Shan is also the co-chair of the community counsellor’s sub-committee at the Singapore Association of Counselling (SAC), as well as a trainer who held talks at Amazon Web Services (AWS), the Singapore Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and the Career Development Association of Singapore (CDAS).
It gives me great joy and privilege to support my clients as they learn to reconnect deeply and meaningfully with themselves and their loved ones. I've had an exceptional experience with Yiz as my therapist. From the very first session, I genuinely felt heard as he fostered a comfortable and trustful environment where I’m able to share my struggles openly. Yiz worked with me to unravel the complexities of my issues which offered me clarity and a new perspective on how I’m able to tackle my challenges more effectively. Such issues include LGBT identity, workplace relationships, self-worth and so on. He’s been instrumental in my personal growth over the past year which was largely attributed to his deeply personalised approach. He also provided me with the tools and strategies to cope and grow. I highly recommend Yiz to anyone seeking a compassionate, friendly and effective mental health professional!

Yi Shan was an incredible help to my mental health. She is very clear on her session goals and outlines the journey she wishes to take with you. Her in-depth knowledge of neuroscience helped me understand why I was feeling or behaving in certain situations. Her gentle approach to tackling issues made it a safe space for me to open up and be honest with myself. It wouldn't hurt to add that her charismatic and humorous nature takes off the pressure of opening up. I came in with the intention of sharing all my problems and hoping to find a solution to everything that was bothering me. However, she carefully extracts powerful experiences and teaches me meaningful skills and lessons that I can apply across different aspects of my life. She gave me the power to overcome my present and future obstacles with great stability and peace.
