I am a horse behaviour specialist who specialises in the unique emotional bond we form with our horses. I can help you with all problems that create tension and disharmony between the horse and human without using force or intimidation to the horse. These include leading to and from the field, pulling away, bolting, rearing, napping, bucking, biting and difficulty with trailer loading. The last four years have seen me offer additional support to the rider if they are suffering negative emotions such as anxiety, anger or fear around their horse. I can help you identify why this is happening and what you can do about it. I also give general riding instruction as I am a fully qualified BHSII, from novice rider to competition level rider in all disciplines be it hacking out, pleasure riding, dressage, cross country or showjumping.
I think I have the best job in the world! I absolutely love seeing the improvement between horse and human within the first couple of hours! Being able to help someone who has been struggling with undesirable or unsafe behaviour from their horse or is suffering with negative emotions around their horse, whether it be out in the field or out at competitions and see them gain in confidence and knowledge is very satisfying:)
Helping someone with their general riding skills gives me an enormous sense of satisfaction too I see them gain a better control and understanding of the horse they are riding.
I wanted to be able to set my own principles and work in alignment for what is important to the horse and not just to the client. I wanted the horses to be recognised for what they bring to the situation and not just be 'used' for human desires or wants. I couldn't find anyone else offering what I do so decided that I had better do it! :)
The testimonial page on my website gives a good indicator of how happy my clients are with the service I offer. At the end of the day, it's all about the horse. It's got to be that way because the horse didn't ask to be put in the situation it is in. When a person looks at things from the horse's point of view, massive change can happen....and I mean MASSIVE!!

Stag Lodge 2 is a very good bet for lessons and Tish is an excellent instructor. She is good-humoured and perceptive, and she keeps me up to the mark. As a result she is getting measurable results and, more important, I am having fun.

Had a great lesson with Tish. She understands you as a person & a rider to ensure the lesson is custom to you. She has endless knowledge about horses and is a real intuitive teacher. She boosts your confidence, reinforces what you do right whilst giving you areas to work on. Highly recommend

I am struggling to find the words to describe how over the moon I am to have found Donna and Nik. I have bought a 3 year old ex racehorse who has needed a lot of TLC and who is an absolute gentle giant but when being led out can be quite explosive and at 17hh , a bit of a handful. Donna and Nik have been working with me for the last month and they have given me so much help and support to get me and Eric on the right tracks, especially helping me with my confidence. I'm also having lessons on my other horse and the difference Donna has made to my position and a new way of riding is out of this world. I have bareback lessons and in the saddle and Donna's teaching style is second to none. I intend to continue to work with these wonderful people for a long time to come and am so excited to have them on our journey.
